Booo!

Today's Pooch Cafe'

This morning, 45 minutes before I had to be to work, I made my costume completely from scratch. I was a butterfly :) Cut out cardboard wings, covered them in extra fabric I had laying around the place, and stapled it all together. It kinda fell apart different times through out the day, but whatever, in the end, it all worked out.

One of my co-workers, Kelly, came dressed in a big red dragon costume. The costume, however, was made for a child lol. So it was a little small, but it was the funniest thing I'd seen in a long time. However, when a small child, 4 years old or so, came in wearing the exact same costume...I don't know. That was the topping on the cake.

I've only had 2 trick or treaters tonight :(. And it's 11pm. I either missed them all while I was at work, or they just don't go to apartment buildings, or it's too freakin' cold to come door to door. Anyway, neither of them had costumes on! As I was giving them some candy, I asked what they were supposed to be, and the one kid said, "I'm supposed to be Gilligan from Gilligan's Island, but I left my hat at home." And then the other kid didn't say anything, but held up his backpack with a Jason mask in it, and was holding a plastic knife...Okay...

Had to buy a new DVD player 'cause mine karked it on me. I was so freakin' pissed. Every time I would close it, it would close, then open. So I shook it. Then a piece fell out. So I tried to put it back in, after taking it apart with my scissors...Yeah. Still didn't work. Now it would stay shut, but the screen would say "Loading" even if there wasn't a disk in it, and didn't do anything! I just wanted to watch Dawn of the Dead with Amy and scare her!

So I put it on my credit card 'cause I can't really afford it right now. Whoops.

The really weird thing? My mom's DVD player at home wouldn't work, either. And she was trying to watch Dawn of the Dead, too! Except hers wouldn't open, and mine wouldn't stay closed. She said it was a Halloween/Dawn of the Dead conspiracy. I think she's right.

Freak snow storm

Today's Pooch Cafe'

Well, yesterday was a weird day. It started out okay, I guess. A little rainy. Amy wanted to go home, but her dad wouldn't let her because there was a big blizzard going on back home. She was really upset by it, and even though we checked a bunch of weather websites to see what it was doing at home, she still wanted to go home. I told her if she was upset and needed someone to cry on when she got back from home because she hated it here, don't come crying to me. She does this to herself all the time. Saying, "I'll be better this time," when I really don't think she will be, because look at how upset she got because she couldn't go home for a weekend.

Anyway. We happened to get that same blizzard storm at about 12:30 in the afternoon. I don't know how long it lasted because I was at work and away from the windows, but I know that within 2 hours, it managed to cover the entire town in about and inch anf a half or more of slush. Not cool.

So I'm on my way to work, early because I know the roads are gross and people are idiots during the first snow storm. I turned onto the street that leads to the parking lot for work, only to find that it is entirely covered in slush. I can't see the curb, but I know that it's a little narrow, so I swing wide so as not to hit it, and end up getting stuck, going up a hill, in the crap. There's a van behind me, going the opposite direction because I swung a little too wide. Whoops. So now what do I do?! I was so pissed off. And stuck for about 5 minutes there, just telling myself "I'm gonna be late for work!!!"

The van behind me was making a left hand turn, so it took forever for him to get out into traffic. Because the only way I was getting out, was to back out into traffic and try a new entrance. When I told people at work that I'd gotten stuck, they're like, "Yeah, didn't you know you're not supposed to take that entrance when it's been snowing?" Uhhh, no. Thanks, though.

Oh, also, we have this really cool bicycle there that looks like a motorcycle. Huge fat back tire, the kickstand looks like a motorcycle's, and it has a leather seat. I asked my manager if I could ride it after I clocked out and he's all, "Sure! Just don't leave any black marks on the floor!" That sucker was hard to steer! But I managed not to crash into anything, and all was well with the world.

i miss home!

Today's Pooch Cafe'
Music: Gretchen Wilson - When I Think About Cheatin'

I've been getting a little homesick lately. I haven't spent the night at my house since the first weekend after school started. I've been home plenty of times since I moved out, but it's always been in the middle of the day when both my parents are at work, and the only way I can really see them is to go into their workplace and bother them for a while or mooch off Mom for lunch or something, and I don't like doing that so much.

So I'm going to try to take a weekend off of work here before Thanksgiving, which is only the next couple of weekends, and spend the weekend at home. That way I can see everyone in the day time, get some good meals, and spend more than 6-7 hours at my house, and not have to worry about driving home in the dark. Hopefully It'll be a nice weekend weather-wise when I do this.

Anyway...I just want to come home for a while. I've been kinda depressed lately, and I think that would help. As long as Dad doesn't start nit picking at something. I'm gonna have to put the request in tonight, I guess. Maybe Sony will be there tonight so I can talk to him, too.

can i chew my arm off now?

I'm so sick and tired of political ads on television. I know that there's only less than a week left 'til elections, but I've already voted damnit. And I voted in Wyoming, not South Dakota. So I don't want to see anymore South Dakota senator ads. Of course, after the elections, we're going to have to see why people voted this way and why this and why that. Blah.

But, I learned today that Tom Daschle is a very powerful man in congress. I had no idea.

I have got to stop eating my Halloween candy! There isn't going to be any left for any trick or treaters. I'll have to buy another bag tomorrow or Saturday. And try not to eat it. I need more caramel Hershey Kisses. They're the best. Thanks for introducing me to them, Jill.

just another post

Today's Pooch Cafe'

Tomorrow "Dawn of the Dead" comes out to buy, and you know I'm going to do it. This is probably the first DVD I've bought in 2 years. I don't work tomorrow, either, so I'm gonna go buy it and come straight home to watch it and scare myself silly :)

I finished my second scarf up last night. It could have been done a long time ago, I just never got around to doing anything with it. I'll try to take some pictures of them. I'm rather proud of 'em.

Shit. Snow is coming this way. Gonna hit my hometown first, then come for us if it hasn't dissipated yet. Looks like it could get Gillette today at the rate it's moving now. Eeep!

I got up way too early this morning so I could shower before class, but it's probably a good thing 'cause it's below freezing out, and I have a wet head right now. Probably not a good idea to walk around outside for 10 minutes in the freezing cold with wet hair.

Earth Science test today. Wish me luck! Still have to finish up some of my studying for it after Bio this morning. Woo hoo. I guess I could do some now, but I'm too tired to concentrate.

I'll end this morning with a song by the Beach Boys.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we were older
Then we wouldn’t have to wait so long
And wouldn’t it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

You know it’s gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through

Happy times together we’ve been spending
I wish that every kiss was neverending
Wouldn’t it be nice

Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true
Baby then there wouldn’t be a single thing we couldn’t do
We could be married
And then we’d be happy

Wouldn’t it be nice

You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But lets talk about it
Wouldn’t it be nice

Crop Circles

Today's Pooch Cafe'
Music: Joe Nichols - If Nobody Believed In You

So last night I'm watching Saturday Night Live, and after a great time of laughing at Ashlee Simpson and how retarded she is, a show called Unexplained Mysteries comes on, about crop circles. And I have the tendancy to freak myself out about stupid stuff like this, even though I don't really know what I believe about it.

So they're talking about aliens and animal mutilation, and how they've taken the shapes of the "signs" (crop circles) and made them into mathematical figures, and then turned those into musical notes, then played those notes, seeing if they could figure out what they were saying. Some people have too much time on their hands.

Then there were parts about some of the crop circles looking like our galaxy, and how Earth was missing from it, like aliens were trying to tell us that we were going to disappear or something. I don't know. For some reason parts of this really freaked me out, and when I start talking about stuff like that or watching it, my eyes get all watery like I'm crying. I don't know what it is. I looked like someone ran over my cat or something last night. Then I couldn't sleep, so I had to put it on South Park to get my mind off of crop circles, even though I still love them. I just shouldn't watch stuff about them in the middle of the night when I'm by myself...

Oh, on a brighter note, I learned how to mix paint yesterday at work :) It was pretty cool. That's one of the main reasons I wanted to move out onto the floor in hardlines, because I wanted to learn to mix paint lol.

I have a big comprehensive test tomorrow afternoon for my Earth Science class, and I'm trying to study for it, but it's really boring and dull and I keep getting distracted. Not by the TV or the internet. Not by anything, really, I just kinda space out.

HAHAHAAHAHA

Today's Pooch Cafe'

OMFG this is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Well, maybe not a long time, since I just watched The Superbowl Shuffel a few days ago...but anyway...

Saturday Night Live is on tonight, and Ashlee Simpson is the the musical guest. She's about as stupid as her sister. During the beginning of her second song, she starts doing this weird dance, and then the song starts playing. And she doesn't have the microphone up to her mouth! But supposedly she's singing! So she starts doing this really goofy dance, then the singing voice gets quieter, quieter, and they can't fix it, so she walks off stage.

The new Milli Vanilli!!! Freakin' hilarious!

She said at the end, "I'm so sorry! My band started playing the wrong song, so I thought I would do a ho-down," 'cause she was doing this really retarded dance. Ummm...pretty sure that the tape was playing, her voice was singing, but she wasn't moving her lips. Nice try.
